Estimating Our expert engineering staff will review the customer's part print(s) and closely examine any samples provided. To determine the best process or equipment needed to manufacture the part at the most competitive price, our engineers review the part's geometry, material specifications, tolerances, and quantity. We always try to minimize the number of steps or operations needed to complete the job and meet or exceed the customer's expectations. We always pay close attention to any special tooling or guages that will be required and their cost. We also consider any plating, heat treating, anodizing, passivation, and cold working that may be needed. Our goal at Ohio Screw Products is to make doing business with us as easy as possible. We will produce the customer's part in the most economical way possible while meeting or exceeding all quality requirements. If we determine that the part is beyond our capabilities, we will tell the customer up front and not waste their time.

Review and Cost Reduction When reviewing a part print, we may ask for deviations on tolerances, finishes or material grades to keep costs down. We will state this right on the quotation or call to discuss possible options. We also have the ability to assist customers with initial designs or redesigns to achieve desired performance results or cost reductions. We will work with the customer's engineering staff to determine part form, fit and function. After we are educated on the use of the part, we can then advise what changes in the parts geometry, material, and tolerances will improve machinability and lead to required cost reductions.

Before each new job, we use our years of experience to anticipate potential problems. We then prepare complete machine layouts and design or specify the most appropriate tooling, fixtures and gauges. This ensures you that your parts are produced with optimum efficiency and dependable quality. Our ability to design and manufacture most of our own tooling provides better control over your parts quality and shortens lead times. Using our CAD system with online programming to our state of the art EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine), we apply the latest in technology to the process of producing tooling for your part.
